Intentional Focus February – Week 3 – Reading

This week we want to share with you our third overall goal for the year – reading. To be honest, I don’t really have any deep significant reasons as to why reading is one of the goals. There isn’t some deep heart issue I’m trying to address or an internal battle I’m wrestling through.

None of that. Rather, reading is a goal for the year because I desire to be a reader.

Post IF:Gathering 2020

The most important part of going to the IF:Gathering is you, your team, and your planners. That’s it. And you have those already….You get to attend the IF:Gathering as a vendor with only 6 moths of being in business. You get to go with sweet friends. You get to go be exposed to seasoned businesses, ones that love Jesus. You get to be surrounded and inspired by women from all walks of life and women that you admire. You get to go there. Going to IF is a gift, enjoy the gift. Focus on these things, not on the other things.

Resetting with the Whole30

During a routine visit with my primary care practitioner suggested changing my diet. In her words, diet and the foods we eat are something we do and need every day for our bodies to function, so it would make sense that if we are struggling physically, it might have something to do with the food we’re eating. So she suggested trying the Whole30.

Intentional Focus February – Week 2 – Clean Eating

This week we want to share with you our second overall goal for the year – clean eating. For me, using the phrase “clean eating” as opposed to “healthy eating” helps me focus not on the vague idea of “healthy” but rather the specifics of what a changed diet will do for my body, externally and internally.

Intentional Focus February – Week 1 – Rest

One of the rhythms I know I’m awful at balancing is the rhythm of work and rest. I can often fall into a trap that I don’t deserve rest until I’ve worked enough, but as I’ll share more later, this just doesn’t work. I need rest to remind me I’m not superwoman and to be restored for a new week ahead. For myself, this rhythm of rest is called Sabbath. It is a spiritual discipline I am hoping to incorporate into 2020 and one I hope to encourage you to try as well, whether you call it Sabbath or something less spiritual.

Intentional Focus February 2020

Regardless of where we’re at with our goals, we know that at some point the goals we’ve written and the headway we’ve made will start to plateau and maybe even drop. To see goals and dreams come to fruition for the entire year takes us being intentional, and sometimes doing that on your own is pretty hard.

So we’ve decided to dedicate the month of February to practicing being intentional.

Welcome to the Kindred Planner Family!

Back in December, as we were preparing for the IF:Gathering in February, we realized our inventory for the Annual 2020 Kindred Planner was going to run pretty low by the time February 7th came around. We also realized that the Annual Kindred Planner would be missing the month of January for our February IF:Gathering audience. While a good portion of us might still be okay with buying a planner with a missing month, we didn’t want to only have this to offer.

So we came up with a couple other planners to bring with us to Dallas – a completely revamped Academic Kindred Planner (for the 2020-2021 year) and the brand new Simple Kindred Planner (affectionately called the Renée)!

At the end of every month we write a reflection blog post that correlates with the reflection questions in the Kindred Planner.

Consider this your invitation to reflect along with us, coffee (or tea) in one hand and Kindred Planner (or journal) in the other.
