[be] kindred

I love the word “kindred” and using it in phrases like “be kindred,” “kindred friend,” and “live everyday kindred” (our tagline), even though its dictionary definition would probably disagree with the expanse of how I’m choosing to use it. The dictionary definition is pretty simple and straightforward, something along the lines of “being related to or kin to,” hence the kin-dred, implying family or relative connections of some kind.

Mud Month Guest Post – Julia

“When your focus is on what you do, you are able to measure certain things as a success or failure, good or bad. But when you are intentionally seeking who you are, there is no such thing as success or failure.”

“The One Where I Accidentally Deleted My Instagram” [Guest Post]

“I was simply trying to delete a different account (deleting an Instagram account is way harder than you would think) and was horrified to see that account was still there but my business page was gone. I oddly felt like I had gotten laid off and lost everything – thousands of followers, content, and connections with other vendors in my field.”

Mud Month Guest Post – Jocette

In my time living in Turkey, I have lead teams, married a Turkish man and started a small company about Turkish gastronomy. While my love for Turkey is deep, my journey since moving to this country has been challenging. Every step of the way, I have wrestled with finding my core identity in this foreign yet familiar culture. I have tried on every hat available to me in my search for my ultimate identity. So far, I have found that searching for identity can be a cyclical pattern of unsteady emotions if we do not have a secure place for our hats to hang.

Mud Month Encouragement 2020

If you have been keeping up with us on our emails and social media, you’ll know that March is mud month. Mud month because it’s not quite spring, but it’s not quite winter anymore; it’s a blend of rainy snowy-ness and semi sunshine, aka mud. Beyond the physical nature of this month, it’s also a month where we’re losing some of the beginning-of-the-year drive and motivation and looking for some change.

Intentional Focus February – Week 3 – Reading

This week we want to share with you our third overall goal for the year – reading. To be honest, I don’t really have any deep significant reasons as to why reading is one of the goals. There isn’t some deep heart issue I’m trying to address or an internal battle I’m wrestling through.

None of that. Rather, reading is a goal for the year because I desire to be a reader.

Post IF:Gathering 2020

The most important part of going to the IF:Gathering is you, your team, and your planners. That’s it. And you have those already….You get to attend the IF:Gathering as a vendor with only 6 moths of being in business. You get to go with sweet friends. You get to go be exposed to seasoned businesses, ones that love Jesus. You get to be surrounded and inspired by women from all walks of life and women that you admire. You get to go there. Going to IF is a gift, enjoy the gift. Focus on these things, not on the other things.

Resetting with the Whole30

During a routine visit with my primary care practitioner suggested changing my diet. In her words, diet and the foods we eat are something we do and need every day for our bodies to function, so it would make sense that if we are struggling physically, it might have something to do with the food we’re eating. So she suggested trying the Whole30.
