Want to hear about these posts first?

Dear friend,

It’s hard to know how to even write this, but here we are. I am closing this iteration of Kindred & Co. down.

This has been a decision I’ve felt coming in the last year, but wasn’t sure if it was a true closure, or because of something else. Something else being burnout, overwhelm, or discouragement (all things that hold validity too, but differently). However, after this holiday season and this month of January, I’ve come to realize the decision to close is one with grounding.

I have loved this business, even on the days when I’ve wanted to tear my hair out. Starting and running this business has been a wild five year ride. Choosing to close it is therefore not an easy decision, but one I feel confident in. I’ll share more on that mid February, as well as share a “love letter” to the business and to you, the community, once the official close comes March 3rd.

But for now, I want to get into the details of what “closing this iteration of Kindred & Co.” means.

Here’s what is changing.

The 2025 Kindred Planner will be and was the final version of the Kindred Planner. This is perhaps the biggest change and the hardest one to wrap my head around. The Kindred Planner started the business and it’s pretty full circle to think that the 2025 version is closing out this iteration of Kindred & Co. Psst, you can grab your 2025 Kindred Planner at 60% off right now.

The website (kindredandco.net) will no longer be live come March – including all blog content.

Our social media posting (read: instagram) will end come the end of February. Which might not even make a difference to most of you since I’ve basically stopped posting since Christmas (ha).

All blog posts and emailed letter content will stop once our inventory sale ends (details on that below) and the last letter will go out on February 28th

Here’s what is not changing.

(with a big “for now” caveat on everything).

I’m keeping myself and the business open for any custom hand lettering work. It’s something that still gives me the creative release I enjoy without a lot of operational expense. Also, for full transparency, I have a lot of material leftover for our custom cards that I would love to try and use up.

Which means that, for now and following the end of the inventory sale, the Etsy shop will re-open (although the name may change). This allows me to keep the easy, already established avenue for which to share the custom lettering service and any paper goods I suddenly create and want to make purchase-able.

Here’s the timeline of our closure.

Communication related

  • February 4th: kindred letter and blog post go live with upcoming closure announcement
  • February 5th: social media post goes live with upcoming closure announcement
  • February 12th: “behind the close” blog post and letter goes out
  • February 28th: final kindred letter is emailed out
  • March 3rd: website (kindredandco.net) goes down

Products/Shop related

  • February 4th: inventory sale goes live
  • February 21st: print on demand items will no longer be available to purchase (think shirts, hats, meal planners, etc.)
  • March 2nd: inventory sale ends

A more gushy gratitude is coming later, but for now, thank you for being with me for however long you have been here.

If you are so inclined to shop in the final inventory sale, everything is discounted up to 75% off and you can use code THANKYOUFRIEND for an additional 15% off of that.

AND AN ASK: If you know of any non-profits, churches, organizations, businesses, etc. that could benefit from a donation of journals, I would love to donate any “be still” journals that are left in the inventory rather than just recycle them at the end of the inventory sale. Please let me know!

More to come <3

With joy & gratitude,

Val
